The programme was scheduled for December 28 but was postponed due to state mourning following the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. "On January 6, the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Samaroh will be organised at the same place in Namkum, originally planned for December 28. On the same day, chief minister Hemant Soren will transfer the first instalment of the enhanced honorarium of ₹2,500 into the accounts of over 5.6 million beneficiaries. Around 300,000 women are expected to participate in the programme," the insider said.
Sameera S, director of the department, confirmed the development. "Though official confirmation is awaited, tentatively, this can be said," she added.
