3 Phone Thieves Caught, 120 Phones Recovered

The police on Friday arrested three Andheri East residents who are all alleged members of a mobile phone snatching gang and recovered 120 mobile phones from them.

MUMBAI: The recovered phones were worth ₹9.19 lakh.

The three accused, identified as Prasad Gurav, 31, Vikesh Upadhyay, 27, and Ravi Waghela, 34, have been booked under sections 309(2)(4) (robbery) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They were caught after their latest target approached the police station.

Police said the complainant was speaking on his phone while walking on Sahar Road in Andheri East. Two bike-borne men quickly snatched his phone and sped away.
