letters@hindustantimes.com MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) investigation into Wednesday's ferry accident near Gateway of India revealed that while a naval vessel collided with the passenger ferry Nilkamal due to engine malfunction, the ferry was also overloaded at the time of the incident.
Police officials said the Navy speed boat's crew tried to minimise the impact of the inevitable crash, which was triggered after an engine malfunction appeared to have opened the throttle.
