1st free molecular genotyping centre set for launch

LUCKNOW: The Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) is poised to launch India's first molecular genotyping centre, offering free testing, by next week, hospital authorities confirmed.

The state-of-the-art facility will be operated by the department of transfusion medicine, marking a significant milestone in the identification and diagnosis of thalassemia patients in the country.

This pioneering technology will be used to enhance the diagnosis of thalassemia patients enrolled in the state government's Thalassemia Bal Seva Yojana now and in the future, a comprehensive screening and diagnosis initiative.
