The road connects packages two (Dwarka Sector 21 to the Delhi-Gurugram border) and three (Delhi-Gurugram border to Basai railway overbridge) of the expressway. Connecting these two sections of the expressway was crucial before opening the highway for traffic.
A commuter going from Gurugram to Delhi will be able travel on this road up to the underpass in Dwarka's Sector 21, NHAI officials said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the expressway in the next few days before the model code of conduct kicks in next month for the general elections. However, the date of inauguration has yet to be confirmed, NHAI officials aware of the matter said.
"Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Dwarka Expressway in the first week of March," said Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh on Thursday.
