According to jail officials, Sisodia was taken to Tihar from the Rouse Avenue court on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in central Delhi. On completion of formalities, the AAP leader was assigned Jail No 1, where he will be kept with other prisoners.
Sisodia requested the court that he be kept in a vipassana, or meditation, cell inside the prison. He also asked the court to let him keep a pen, a diary, and a copy of the Bhagavad Gita.
The court granted the second request, and asked the jail authorities to consider the first. Senior jail officials said that Jail No 1 has a common room for meditation.
