The outspoken frontman, 71, performed in front a big screen showing Sinead’s face at the Cavan Calling festival on Saturday night.
The musician revealed how the pair were very good friends, and had been texting each other right up until her death.
Sinead was found unresponsive by police in her penthouse flat in London last Wednesday.
Her death comes just 18 months after her teenage son, Shane, took his own life.
