THE Garda Commissioner has insisted the Hutch mob remain under investigation and warned: "My gang is bigger than theirs."
Ahead of a meeting with the Director of Public Prosecutions, Drew Harris admitted Gerry "The Monk" Hutch's acquittal of David Byrne's murder was a "setback".
But he refused to be drawn on why he was not hit with any further charges when he was initially arrested.
Hutch's not guilty verdict, means seven years on, nobody has been convicted of Byrne's murder.
The Special Criminal Court established that while The Monk could have organised the Regency attack, evidence could suggest the opposite also.
Ms Justice Tara Burns also told how state witness Jonathan Dowdall was unreliable and a liar.
But it did find Hutch was in control of the AK47s used in the shooting after the attack.
