GLUTEN FOR PUNISHMENT

GERWYN PRICE has gone gluten-free – and the ‘Iceman’ says it has put him in a better mood.

The former world champion is on course for the Cazoo Premier League play-offs and faces Chris Dobey in Brighton tonight, hoping his new diet has brought a full stop to his full strop.

Price cut an agitated figure three months ago when he wore headphones on stage (above) to cut out the noise of booing crowds.

And he made a knee-jerk threat never to play at Alexandra Palace again after crashing out of the PDC Worl d Championship against Gabriel Clemens. But the Welshman is back on top form and believes he is bringing home the loot due to cutting out the glutes.

Price said: “ I went gluten-free for six, seven and eight weeks to see if it is just intolerance or if I have to be gluten-free for everything.

“It seems to put me in a better mood. I don’t know if that is psychological, but everything seems to be all right.
