Government let banks screw us over again...while raking in profit

AFTER the financial crash politicians vowed our rogue banks would never again be allowed to jeopardise the economy and screw the public.

But 15 years on it's back to year zero with the country's financial institutions making obscene profits at the expense of homeowners - all while shafting savers.

Once again the public are just pawns in a capitalist chess game and there is no white knight to save them from being fleeced by these predators.

History is repeating itself with a petrified Government caught like rabbits in the headlights of a financial juggernaut that could bring ruin to thousands of families.

Ministers are refusing to act even though there is a real possibility that the country is heading into another mortgage arrears crisis.

Unlike the recession which began in 2008 this crisis will not be caused by a collapse in the property market - quite the opposite as house prices and rents are rising. This time around it is being generated by greed, it's as simple as that and it appears the Government will stand idly by and allow the gross profiteering to continue..

Because that's what it is, the banks are just taking advantage of rising interest rates to make a killing at the expense of customers.
