THE Detective Garda who died in a blaze on her boat is to be laid to rest on Friday, it has emerged.
The much-respected Deirdre Finn, whose body was found on her boat in Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday, will be buried in south Dublin.
Last night the cortege returning her body to Dublin passed through the Leitrim town with a Garda escort.
Garda and Shannon Boat Rally colleagues also provided a guard of honour on Carrick Bridge.
Det Garda Finn, who was based in the detective unit at Dun Laoghaire Station, will repose at the Larry Massey Funeral Directors in Rathfarnham between 4pm and 7pm on Thursday, her family announced yesterday.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at St John the Evangelist Church, Ballinteer at midday.
