Moyes and Rice giving everything to join irons haul of fame

DAVID MOYES and Declan Rice will be fighting to keep alive their dreams as the third man in West Ham’s hall of fame tonight.

In 128 years, Ron Greenwood (in 1964 and 1965) and John Lyall (1975 and 1980) are the only Hammers managers to land silverware.

And the Europa Conference League – won by Jose Mourinho with Roma last season – represents Irons boss Moyes’ best chance to break his duck after 1,085 games in the dugout during his career.

The meter is ticking over to 43 years since the last knees-up – when Billy Bonds followed Bobby Moore (both below) as the club’s only other captain to practise the trophy-lift.

And for current skipper Rice – likely to leave West Ham this summer – this could be his last chance to sign off in glory.

The Hammers’ progress to a second European semi-final in as many seasons is by no means a done deal.
