 IT started off with a text message and could end up in Europe.

This is the life Mark Coyle always wanted, parking the dual demands of shift work at Letterkenny Hospital with night-time training in Ballybofey, for afternoons where his only job is to rest.

Yet it's not the shortened working hours that took him from Donegal to Dublin. "It was the chance to see how good I can be," he says, remembering where he was when he checked his phone to see a text from a number he didn't know.
