I've been here so long I remember ration cards...

AN elderly pensioner celebrating 100 years of her family shop may be Ireland’s oldest shopkeeper.

Angela Healy-O’Brien’s parents Christopher Healy and his wife Ellen opened the Co Kerry business on St Patrick’s Day in 1923.

Angela, 86, still works behind the counter while her 53-year-old daughter Aileen O’Brien manages its day-to-day running.

Angela has worked behind the counter for 70 years and told the Irish Mirror: “I’ve been here so long that I remember ration cards. The shop has changed a lot over the years. People pay with their phones now.
