A MAN was last night charged with the murder of a young mother in Limerick - just weeks after she arrived in Ireland.
The came after detectives probing Tuesday's frenzied stabbing of mum of four Geila Ibram, 27, recovered CCTV footage of a man entering the victim's apartment shortly before the killing.
The man is seen on a video doorbell calmly walking into the property in the Riverdock complex on the Dock Road in the city at 1.28pm.
Sources confirmed Ms Ibram, who landed in Ireland from her native Romania just three weeks ago, was a sex worker in the city and officers believe that is how she met her killer.
But sources last night said investigators probing the killing, in which Ms Ibram was stabbed four times, do not believe at this stage the killer was one of her clients.
Instead, they are focusing on the theory that she may have been murdered by a pimp or someone else known to her.
"The belief is they already knew each other, a source said last night.
The source also stressed that gardai did not believe other sex workers in Limerick were at risk following the killing.
Cops in the North last night charged a 26-year-old man with murder after he was arrested in Belfast on Thursday.
It's understood the man was arrested as part of a cross-border policing operation involving gardai and the PSNI.
