FURTHER interest rate hikes will be “absolutely disastrous for tens of thousands” of people, a TD warned yesterday.
Labour’s Ged Nash said the rises, designed to tackle inflation, are hammering borrowers, those trying to buy a home and small businesses.
The European Central Bank announced its ninth interest rate hike in a year yesterday.
The 0.25% increase brings rates to 4.25% and those on tracker mortgages will be worst affected.
