PAIR FACING TRIAL OVER ALEJANDRO DOG ATTACK

A COUPLE are set to stand trial over a dog attack which left a schoolboy with life-changing injuries.

Niall Byrne and Karen Miller are due before Wexford Circuit Court in October charged with a number of offences linked to the incident in Co Wexford last November.

Alejandro Mizsan, who was nine at the time, was playing with pals near his family home in Enniscorthy when he was savaged by a pitbull which was roaming freely.

It ripped off his bottom lip, mauled each of his cheeks as well as injuring his body and legs. The animal was killed that night.

Severely injured Alejandro was airlifted to Crumlin Children's Hospital in Dublin where he spent seven weeks.
