INVESTIGATORS were last night working to establish the cause of a fire which claimed the lives of an elderly woman and her son.
Kathleen and Michael Lynch, aged in their 80s and 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene of the farmhouse where they lived which overlooks Lacken Lake near Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan.
The blaze broke out at the property before 2am yesterday.
Emergency services who attended the scene managed to extinguish the fire before the bodies of Kathleen and Michael were found.
