Prime Time star Miriam tells of reaching out to embattled Tubs

MIRIAM O'Callaghan has no doubt Ryan Tubridy will make a return to broadcasting as she opened up on her "overwhelming sadness" over the RTE payments scandal.

It's been a rocky summer for the broadcaster and its staff and while Miriam wasn't involved, she admits it has been a difficult time for everyone.

She told the Irish Mirror: "I was off for a fair amount of the summer and when the story first broke we did a Prime Time special, which is always very strange because you are doing a story about yourself.

"To be honest, initially, there were feelings of great shock and then feelings of great sadness because I know a lot of the people involved. So it is just strange."
