Mowbray wants King of the Cats Stewart to stay and get his own bar named after him

THE ROSS & CROWN!

TONY MOWBRAY has told star striker Ross Stewart to sign a new deal – and get a bar named after him like Sunderland legend Niall Quinn.

Black Cats boss Mowbray is hoping that Stewart, mired in contract talks with his deal up next June, will commit long term because he can be a fans’ hero too – like former player, manager and chairman Quinn, who has a Stadium Of Light boozer bearing his name.

Last season Sunderland only faltered in the play-off semi-final against Luton, after a remarkable season blighted by injury but lit up by stylish forward play.

Stewart, 27, was sidelined for most of the campaign but netted 10 goals in 13 Championship appearances when fit. And his return, pencilled in for next month, will be key to another promotion bid.
