Trump's looking ready to go into battle again at US polls..

I HAVE spent the past week in New York and can tell you the omens are not looking good for Joe Biden to be re-elected for a second term as US President.

Trump's looking ready to go into battle again at US polls..

He may have been hailed a hero back in the auld sod for his rapturous visit last month.

But back on home soil the political Gods are conspiring against the Washington veteran, 80, or Sleepy Joe as his detractors label him.

Ordinary voters are dismayed that the 2024 election is now more and more likely to be a rerun of 2020 Biden V Donald Trump.

And if it happens the odds look increasingly likely that the big-mouthed and obnoxious Trump would beat the incumbent second time round.

As a friend of mine said to me this week, it doesn't matter how much dirt you throw at Trump, it just doesn't seem to stick.

A Manhattan jury ruled last week that he sexually abused writer E Jean Carroll in the changing room of a department store more than 30 years ago.

And they awarded her 5million damages. It was a civil case as opposed to a criminal one.

The ruling would destroy the vast majority of political careers and turn women against the perpetrator but sadly not in Trump’s case. He went straight into battle on social media claiming he never knew the woman and it was all lies.

A photograph was published of him and his former wife Ivanka out with Ms Carroll and her then partner at a public event during that time.
