Tying in with the start of the Manchester games, Day has returned with a sporting theme featuring games, activities, pop-up theatre shows and live performances taking place across a host of Manchester's pedestrianised streets and squares.
The annual event began back in 2010 as a parade to celebrate the city and its communities. It has now evolved into a day-long extravaganza with sports-themed puppets, performances and music taking over everywhere from Deansgate and St Ann's Square, to Market Street, Piccadilly Gardens and New Cathedral Street.
