'Placenta was left inside me for 2 days...I was in agony'

A MUM who claims the placenta was left inside her body for two days after she gave birth at Bolton Royal Hospital says she feared she might die.

Edyta Dobrzanska, 27, claims medical professionals at the hospital in Farnworth failed to acknowledge her concerns that something wasn't right after she gave birth to her baby daughter prematurely last month.

Despite informing nurses that she was in "extreme" pain, the mum-of-two from Westhoughton claims she was assured everything was fine, and was left in the same condition for two days.

She was given morphine and strong medication, but told staff she didn't feel like herself.

Two days after giving birth, Edyta began feeling a sensation similar to labour contractions and had to call for immediate assistance. It was only then she claims doctors realised the placenta was still inside her, and helped her give birth to it.

Speaking of her trauma, the mum says she had to call her partner as she feared she wouldn't survive due to the pain she had been experiencing.

She says she now suffers frequent panic attacks as a result of what happened.
