Rising from the BROWN STOUT ANYIL BRAND HOPSTER ashes

TEN years ago, The Abel Heywood was a former textile warehouse that lay derelict after being severely damaged by a fire.

Today, the Northern Quarter venue, on the junction of Turner Street and Red Lion Street, is an award-winning pub and boutique hotel.

It's regarded as one of the city's 'best kept secrets' and has remained in the top 10 hotels in Manchester on TripAdvisor since it reopened in December 2014, following the acquisition of the building by Salford-based brewery and pub retailer Hydes.

The past decade has seen the Abel Heywood go from strength-to-strength, becoming one of the first city centre pubs to offer boutique hotel accommodation in Manchester. This year, it's toasting 10 years of success after overcoming many of the issues familiar to those working in the hospitality sector.
