Demonstrators chanted and held aloft Palestinian flags yesterday. Speeches were made before protesters marched through the Salford Quays complex. Speakers from the Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign led proceedings outside the BBC's Quayside House.

Palestinian officials say more than 4,000 people have died in Gaza since then, with charities and aid organisations declaring 'humanitarian crisis! Yesterday morning, the first humanitarian aid convoy crossed into the Gaza Strip from Egypt.
