ADAM Wharton insists he isn't a loner - despite what his dad says!
The Crystal Palace midfielder has had a rapid rise into England's Euro 2024 squad, having played for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship as recently as January before his £18m move to Selhurst Park.
But now he is battling to force his way into the Three Lions side for their opening match of the tournament against Serbia on Sunday.
Wharton's dad John revealed to a local radio station that his 20-year-old was 'a bit of a loner' - but the player doesn't agree.
"I think loner is a bit harsh," he joked. "I don't have a million friends, I keep myself to myself and that's just how I have always been really.
