Adnan Januzaj announced his Reds arrival in style with a stunning brace in a victory over Sunderland a little over 10 years ago. United needed it - just like this season they had suffered a slow start to the campaign.
David Moyes was in charge following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and was struggling to hit the ground running. It was Fergie who had pushed Januzaj into the first team fold, handing him a spot in the squad for his final match - at West Brom in May 2013.
Ferguson enjoyed a strong rapport with the forward and Moyes saw potential as well. He wanted to push the Belgian into the side sooner but opted for experience as he tried to settle in with a positive run of results while a slight injury to the 18-year-old also played a part. Three defeats in the opening six league games ramped up the pressure and after losing at home to a West Brom side who went on to scrape survival, Moyes handed Januzaj his first start for a crucial trip to Sunderland with United 12th in the early season table.
Within five minutes the Reds were behind and as the second half started there were concerns this could be another damaging defeat. Januzaj had other ideas and turned the game on its head.
