Bin collections halted in body parts murder probe

Officers are hunting for more body parts after a grim discovery last Thursday.

They are checking wheelie bins in case the killer used one to hide remains.

It comes after a torso was found at Kersal Wetlands.

In a social media post, deputy city mayor and Broughton councillor John Merry, said: "At the request of GMP bin collections in the Kersal area and parts of Broughton have been suspended while investigations relating to murder are carried out. The council will endeavour to restart them as soon as possible." A week on from a horrific discovery the search continues for clues to the identity of the murder victim.

It was Thursday afternoon when human remains were found in woodland at Kersal, Salford.

A man's torso was found, but tests are continuing to establish his ethnicity.

A member of the public found the remains wrapped in multiple layers of Cellophane near Radford Street.
