THE developer behind Manchester's £4 billion, 15,000-home 'new town' have issued a 'significant' update on the project's latest phase.
The project, called Victoria North, will see around 35,000 people move into the thousands of new homes being built by Far East Consortium (FEC) and the council from Angel Meadow in the city centre to Collyhurst. There could also be a new tram stop, new schools, new GP surgeries, and swathes of parkland once the scheme is finished in more than a decade.
Now, FEC has announced it's signed a £210 million deal with CR Construction to build the next phase of Victoria North. CR will construct 895 homes in Red Bank, where it is currently another 634 Victoria North flats, in a development called Victoria Riverside, set to open early next year.
