PLANS to transform a town's main shopping centre into an entertainment and street food attraction catering for up to 2,000 people have been unveiled.
Street food brand Stack intends to take over a big part of the former Debenhams store in the Grand Arcade to turn it into a place for live entertainment, food and drink seven days a week, boosting the economy and creating 140 jobs.
Stack's scheme will see the creation of new access on to Concert Square, Millgate, with an outside seating area on three levels. The mall inside will be subdivided and extended to the doors through to the multi-storey car park, and two storeys on the Millgate side will be taken over by Stack.
