A GUNMAN said he never intended for his half-brother to be killed when he opened fire in the street.
Rumaal Ingram said he only wanted to 'scare' Zikel Bobmanuel.
He claimed that he feared Mr Bobmanuel, 32, may have also had a firearm. The single bullet fired by Ingram hit the road before ricocheting and hitting Mr Bobmanuel, inflicting fatal injuries.
Jurors Crown at Manchester Court have heard that Ingram, 36, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denies murder. He said that his relationship with his half-brother was 'up and down!
Prosecutors Mr Bobmanuel's allege that death in Openshaw on March 25 followed a row over trainers. Emmanuel Onasanya, 32, a second defendant at the trial who denies murder and manslaughter, ran a business cleaning trainers and had agreed to clean five pairs belonging to Mr Bobmanuel.
