KALVIN Phillips has confessed to being 'gobsmacked' by the tactical prowess of Pep Guardiola at City.
Phillips, who is currently on loan to Ipswich Town, reflected on his challenging time at the club since transferring from Leeds United in 2022 for £41million.
Despite winning the Premier League and Champions League with City, he saw limited action and eventually went on a short loan to West Ham before his current spell at Ipswich.
Amazed by Guardiola's foresight during his time in the City camp, though, the 28-year-old midfielder recounted an example from the opening day of the 2022/23 season against West Ham a game City won 2-0 - where Guardiola had predicted the flow of the game days before kick-off.
