A MAN has gone on trial accused of murdering a 19-year-old by stabbing them in the neck with 'severe force! Akbar Khan, 21, is accused of murdering Ibraheem Ali after stabbing him during a fight outside a convenience store in Levenshulme on the evening of January 22 this year.
A jury at Bolton Crown Court was shown CCTV of the incident inside Wayne's Convenience Store on Stockport Road, opposite Mandeville Street, around 11.20pm on that evening. Mr Khan is seen entering the store before Mr Ali and two friends follow shortly after.
Mr Ali confronts Mr Khan at the shop counter and a fight ensues with the shop keeper asking them all to leave.
Mr Ali exits the store shouting to Mr Khan 'get out of the shop now you f****** p****, get out of the shop now I'll f****** kill you!
Prosecuting, Anesta Weekes KC, described to the jury that the confrontation then continued outside the door of the shop. Mr Khan stayed in the shop for a short period before exiting with a knife in his hand, she said.
On the video, Mr Ali is seen to throw an object at the driver's side window of Mr Khan's car just before this. The prosecution said they 'accept' that Mr Ali was the aggressor at the outset of the fight.
