Armed police and crime scene investigators swooped on Norfolk Street in Walkden, Salford.
Greater Manchester Police said the 34-year-old victim was rushed to hospital after the gun and knife attack at around 6.30 pm on Saturday.
Yesterday, officers remained at the taped-off scene sweeping the street for evidence. The man was in a ‘serious but stable condition’ after suffering stab wounds and a ‘suspected gunshot injury’, according to GMP.
A police cordon extended down the street with another section of tape cordoning off two houses.
Tactical Aid Unit officers were seen combing the area for clues, searching in hedges and looking under cars. Crime scene investigators took pictures and carried out investigations.
