MANCHESTER council is expected to install more than 200 electric vehicle charging points around the city.
With a national ban expected to come over the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030, the number of electric vehicles (EVS) are expected to increase.
As of April last year, 155 charging points with 300 connectors were around Manchester. It is estimated that around 140,000 vehicles in Manchester will be eventually be electric, covering around 75 per cent of all vehicles.
It is expected that the new charging points will be placed in council-owned car parks, libraries and leisure centres over two years.
