Teens stabbed college outside

RESIDENTS TELL OF VIOLENCE PROBLEM IN NEIGHBOURHOOD

RESIDENTS said 'violence has been brewing' in their neighborhood for years after two teenagers were stabbed in broad daylight.

Emergency services raced to Herne Street in Openshaw at around 12.50 pm yesterday to reports of a disturbance outside Manchester College.

Two 16-year-old boys, who were part of a large group, were rushed to hospital with 'serious' stab wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made.

A hunt was ongoing for the knifeman, who police said is 'described as a young Asian or Indian male in dark clothing with two braids in his hair!

Residents told the M.E.N. violence in the area has been 'getting worse for years. One woman said she rushed to help one of the victims following the stabbing. She described him as laying on a bench with an open wound while others tried to wrap it.
