Stacey Smith, 27, went into her unsuspecting victim's flat and took his card.
Smith went on to create fake Amazon accounts and made 241 orders using his card, getting them delivered to her address in Middleton.
She ordered a number of items including an iPhone, a flat screen TV and a fridge freezer. The thefts took place over a period of 10 weeks, while the man was in hospital following a collapse. In total, £18,373.54 was taken.
Smith pleaded guilty to fraud by false presentation, and was handed a suspended sentence. She had previously told police that the man had been abusive to her when she was a child, adding: "I took it out on him when he was at his weakest, I should not have done it."
