ANYONE getting shudders at the prospect of watching England again at the European Championship can be calmed by the idea of City being back in business in just a fortnight.

WHY GUARDIOLA HAS TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

While most of the City squad has been at the European Championship, the first of the players who have been enjoying some downtime will start filing back into the City Football Academy the day after the Euros has finished as Pep Guardiola starts gearing up for another Premier League title defence.

Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish will be among the few first teamers that will be part of the squad that plays four games in the United States before returning to the UK for the Community Shield against United.

While the numbers may be depleted, those that are there will be straight to work. And as they get started, there are two priorities for Guardiola.
