The BJP on Wednesday launched an allout offensive on the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his reported remarks in the US.
BJP launches all out offensive against Rahul for his remarks in US

Union Home minister Amit Shah hit out at him, stating that it has become a habit for the Congress leader to stand with "forces that conspire to divide the country."

Defence minister Rajnath Singh also joined the BJP's offensive, targeting Gandhi's reservation remarks.

"Standing with forces that conspire to divide the country and making anti-national statements have become a habit for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Whether it is supporting the JKNC's antinational and anti-reservation agenda in J&K or making antiIndia statements on foreign platforms, Rahul Gandhi has always threatened the nation's security and hurt sentiments," Shah said in a post on X.

Shah said Gandhi's quota remark once again exposed the Congress's "anti-reservation face."

Sending a stern message to Gandhi, Shah added that as long as the BJP is in power, no one can abolish reservations or compromise the nation's security.

Shah's comments came after Gandhi told students at Georgetown University in the US that the Congress would consider scrapping reservations when “India is a fair place,” which he claimed is not the case right now.

“Rahul Gandhi’s statement lays bare the Congress’s politics of causing rifts along regional, religious, and linguistic lines. By speaking about abolishing reservations, Rahul Gandhi has once again revealed the Congress’s antireservation stance,” Shah wrote.

Hitting back at the BJP, the Congress said that Gandhi had only spoken about upholding the Constitution and questioned why the ruling party had a “problem” whenever such discussions arise.
