GDP growth slows to 15-month low of 6.7% in April-June quarter
Millennium Post Delhi|New Delhi 31August2024
Driven primarily by weaker performances in the agriculture and services sectors, India's economic growth has slowed to a 15-month low of 6.7 per cent for the April-June quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year, according to government data released on Friday.

This marks a decline from the 8.2 per cent growth recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, 2023-24. Despite this slowdown, India continues to be the fastest-growing major economy, with China posting a comparatively lower growth rate of 4.7 per cent during the same period.

The last time India's growth dipped this low was in the January-March quarter of 2023, when it recorded a 6.2 per cent expansion.
