Opposition, ruling party clash over Budget in Parliament

Oppn terms Budget as love letter? BFP says it will generate jobs contribute to India’s development

The second day of Budget discussions in Parliament saw heated debates beteen the Opposition and the ruling party, with criticism and defence of the government’s fiscal policies taking centre stage.

Opposition members, particularly from the Congress party, attacked the Budget, claiming it favoured certain states while neglecting others. Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil described the Budget as a “gratitude letter, a love letter” to NDA allies, suggesting that most of India was treated like a “stepchild.” In response, BJP’s Raj Kumar Chahar accused the Opposition of creating “narratives of lies” to sow doubt among the public. He challenged the Congress and AAP to demonstrate their efforts in increasing farmers’ incomes.
