Deadly air strikes on Gaza as hostages tunnel is revealed

In the latest bombardment by Israeli forces on Friday night into yesterday morning, Gaza City was hit, killing 16 people, including four children and three women, while other targets included Khan Younis, where another three people died.

It came hours before thousands of mourners gathered for the funeral of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi in the Aegean town of Didim, in southwestern Turkey.

They lined the street as her coffin, draped in the nation’s flag, was carried by a military police escort, from the family home to the funeral outside the central mosque.

A large crowd joined in the prayers including Ms Eygi’s family, members of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Islamic-rooted AK party, and pro-Palestinian activists.
