Adani Power, a key player in the Indian energy sector, reported substantial growth in its financial and operational performance for the April-June 2024 quarter. The company’s consolidated power sales volume reached 24.1 billion units, a notable 38% increase from the 17.5 billion units recorded in the same period of 2023. This surge in power sales is attributed to an uptick in power demand and an expanded operating capacity.
The impressive performance is mirrored in Adani Power’s financial results. The company’s consolidated continuing total revenue surged by 30% to Rs 15,052 crore, compared to Rs 11,612 crore in the previous year’s quarter. This increase in revenue is primarily due to higher sales volumes. The company’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) also saw a significant boost, growing by 53% to Rs 6,290 crore, up from Rs 4,121 crore in the same quarter of 2023. This growth in EBITDA was driven by elevated revenues and a decrease in import fuel prices.
