However, the downpour resulted in a significant tragedy at Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal 1. The roof of the terminal collapsed, crushing cars and cabs, killing one person and injuring six others.

Details of the Incident Time and Location: The roof collapse occurred around 5 a.m. at the departure area of Terminal 1. The heavy rain contributed to the structure's failure, leading to the death of one individual and injuries to six others.

Investigation Launched: Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu has ordered an investigation into the incident, promising a thorough inspection of the airport's structure to prevent future occurrences.

Compensation Announced: Naidu announced financial compensation for the victims, with 20 lakh allocated to the family of the deceased and 3 lakh for each injured person. Terminal 1 has been temporarily closed to ensure safety and manage the situation.
