India’s scientific landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade, highlighted by an exponential rise in startups and groundbreaking achievements across various sectors.

Speaking at the 6th National Convention of Vigyan Bharati (ViBha) at MIT-ADT University, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State, underscored India’s trajectory from 350 startups in 2014 to nearly 1.5 lakh in 2024, marking a significant stride in the nation’s innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Singh emphasized India’s commitment to establishing its own standards while meeting global benchmarks, asserting the country’s distinctive approach in addressing domestic challenges through indigenous solutions. He noted India’s ascent to the 3rd position in global startups, a testament to its burgeoning entrepreneurial spirit and technological prowess on the world stage. Furthermore, he highlighted India’s impressive leap from 81st to 40th place in the Global Innovation Index, reflecting the nation’s growing capacity for innovation and research and development (R&D) activities.
