FCI vends 1 lakh tn wheat, 100 tn rice in 5th e-auction

The e-auctions are part of the government’s efforts to control the retail prices of essential commodities like rice, wheat, and atta.

The FCI regularly organizes weekly e-auctions to ensure price stabilization and intervene in the market to provide relief to consumers. The government is committed to managing price fluctuations and takes proactive measures to stabilize prices and make essential food items accessible to the general public.

In this particular e-auction, a total of 1.16 lakh tonnes of wheat from 361 depots and 1.46 lakh tonnes of rice from 178 depots were offered from various locations across the country. The FCI offers these commodities in bulk to interested buyers through the e-auction process.
