Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal revealed during a recent event that the Indian government is exploring ways to grant private sector access to non-sensitive data on the Gati Shakti platform. Speaking at the ‘Gati-Shakti Connect’ event organized by Business Standard, Minister Goyal emphasized that while allowing private sector involvement, stringent checks and balances would be in place to safeguard sensitive information.
Goyal acknowledged the overwhelming demand from the private sector to utilize the Gati Shakti platform, which has proven to be highly successful in government projects. He stated, “The data is sensitive. Right now, we are using and testing it for government projects. The test results are so fabulous that we have to think of segregating the sensitive data so that the private sector can enjoy the fruits of the rest of the data.”
