Mkts to remain volatile amid US Fed rate decision speculations: Analysts

Last week witnessed significant declines in small-cap and mid-cap firms, along with outflows of foreign funds and heightened crude oil prices on the international front, which dampened investor sentiment.

Experts foresee continued volatility in equity markets in the short term, given the series of monetary policy decisions scheduled by global central banks throughout the week.

“This week will be marked by a significant focus on monetary policy, with the Fed commencing its two-day policy meeting on March 19. The US Federal Reserve will reveal its interest rate decision after the meeting on March 20, 2024,” stated Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart Ltd.
