In his departure statement, Prime Minister Modi expressed his pleasure at choosing Italy for his inaugural trip of the new term, highlighting the significance of the visit for strengthening bilateral ties. He fondly recalled his previous visit to Italy for the G20 Summit in 2021 and noted the impact of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's visits to India last year.
These interactions have significantly enhanced the strategic partnership between India and Italy, deepening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and Mediterranean regions.
