In a significant move on International Women's Day, Modi has announced a reduction of Rs 100 in the prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders. This decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on households across the nation, with a special focus on empowering women, as stated by PM Modi himself on social media platform X.
This reduction is part of the government's broader efforts to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. The Prime Minister emphasized that making cooking gas more affordable is in line with the government's commitment to empowering women and ensuring 'Ease of Living' for them.
Furthermore, PM Modi extended his greetings to women on International Women's Day, acknowledging their strength, courage, and resilience. He highlighted the government's commitment to women's empowerment through various initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, and more.
This announcement comes alongside the extension of the subsidy on LPG cylinders for poor women under the Ujjwala scheme, starting from April 1. Launched in 2016, the Ujjwala Yojana aims to provide deposit-free LPG connections to women from poor households.
